What is it?
GCODE is a widely used programming language for use in CNC and automated machining. While it is designed to be human-readable and relatively simple, it ends up very often…falling short of that goal (to say the least). For that reason, it can often be more trouble than it is worth converting 2D paths to usable GCODE—especially when scale and curve accuracy are important.
GCODE for Figma allows you to seamlessly export vector paths and curves created in Figma as usable GCODE, for use in physical projects.
What can you do with it?
Plotting & Cutting
Using GCODE export with a plotter or laser cutter, you can draw and cut graphics directly from Figma without having to deal with the jank of SVG export
Something Else
Using the JSON export, you can get quick world-scale paths out of Figma for use in other applications (like robot navigation)
